Mendip Stoves have announced that with the recent refurbishment of their factory, and a large investment in a new spray plant, they will now be able to use water based paints for all their stove products.

This has a great ecological benefit, not only for the wider environment, but also all employees. These low VOC paints emit no smell or fumes, and there is also an advantage for the end-consumer, with no fumes being emitted when the fire is used for the very first time. In oil-based paints, this can be an unpleasant side effect whilst curing the fire. As well as this, in the manufacturing process no thinners or oil-based fluid are needed.

Naturally there is no additional charge for these improvements, as Mendip are committed to making the best choices for the environment that they can, which is why they are likewise proud to announce that they have recently achieved ISO 9001 accreditation. Mendip Stoves is also proud to work in collaboration with the Woodland Trust. For every stove sold, Mendip will donate £10 to the UK’s leading conservation charity, enough to plant three native trees
